This new release (On My Shoulders) will be our 51st original song release and was born in the usual confluence of imaginings and realities.
First, my choir (The Shicka Chickas) was working on a version of Elton John's Grey Seal. His rhythms and word scanning are really interesting in that song - and it got me playing with structures and EMphasES.

I'd also been playing with the concept of how we believe we're the centre of the multiverse (as we are of course) and how that makes us place so much weight on our own actions. Self judgement, self-importance, selfishness. All of the things that we can become awful within if we don't add a touch of "So What?"

When I took it to the gems that are my band - it turned into a lovely 6/8 feel with the usual lovely harmonies and leitmotifs that 8 piece collaborations have the luxury of interweaving. It's gentle, poignant, and a bit self poking.

Anyway - hope you enjoy - it's a "soft groove, about forgiving yourself"
